Durability starts at application and continues through every wash, dry cycle and wear.
Application determines the foundation
A transfer cannot deliver its intended durability if it was applied with insufficient heat, time or pressure. Poor edge bonding may appear immediately or after the first wash. Use the instructions for the specific transfer, keep seams away from the platen and test the actual garment before committing to a production run.
Wait before the first wash
Allow the adhesive bond to settle before laundering. Follow the transfer instructions for the recommended waiting period. Turning the garment inside out reduces direct abrasion against the printed surface and protects it from contact with zippers, buttons and rough fabrics in the same load.
Use gentle washing conditions
Cool or warm water, a normal gentle detergent and a moderate cycle are generally kinder to decorated garments than very hot water or aggressive chemicals. Avoid bleach unless the garment and decoration instructions specifically allow it. Do not iron directly on the transfer.
Drying affects long-term wear
High dryer heat repeatedly stresses garment fibres, adhesive and printed surfaces. Tumble dry at a lower setting or hang dry when practical. Keep decorated garments away from direct high heat. If pressing is required later, turn the garment inside out or protect the decoration appropriately.
Normal wear versus a production problem
Gradual surface change over extended use differs from early lifting, large cracks or immediate peeling. If a new transfer fails quickly, review the application settings, pressure distribution, fabric finish and whether the garment was washed too soon. Document the garment, transfer batch and press settings when troubleshooting.

How many washes will a DTF transfer last?
There is no honest universal number because artwork coverage, film, adhesive, fabric, pressing and laundering differ. Correctly applied and cared-for transfers are intended for repeated normal wear and washing.
Can DTF garments go in a dryer?
Generally yes, but lower heat is kinder to both the garment and decoration. Follow the care instructions supplied with the product.
Why did a transfer peel after one wash?
Early peeling usually points to an application, contact, moisture, fabric-treatment or wash-timing issue rather than normal wear.
Can I repress a lifting area?
Some lifting may be recoverable if caught early. Protect the design and follow the pressing instructions, but investigate the original cause before continuing production.
